Overview
As part of its newly awarded VIGRE program, Stanford's Statistics department
invites applications for three VIGRE postdoctoral associate positions. The appointments
are for three year term but can be shorter by mutual agreement. Strong
candiates whose research interests are
in Financial Mathematics,
Computational Biology or Information Sciences are sought.
Researchers from allied fields such as econometrics,
stochastic processes, computational learning, genetics,
molecular biology, signal/image processing, network inference
and data mining, are encouraged to apply.
The positions are for US citizens, nationals, or permanent residents
who received their PhD degree in a related field (Biology, Mathematics, Statistics,
Electrical Engineering, Computer Science) within 18 months of
the start of their appointment. In addition to an exciting
research environment with ample opportunities to develop
inter-disciplinary interfaces with
Stanford's Financial Mathematics program, Stanford's
Bio-X and Biology
departments and the Engineering school,
the postdoctoral associates will
participate in outreach and teaching initiatives in and outside
of the classroom, and will have the opportunity to organize seminars,
create
new courses, and mentor student activities in their areas of research.
Applicants are requested to send research and teaching statements,
curriculum vita, graduate transcripts, and at most one reprint/preprint
to:
